ABOUT
Izzy Cocuzza
I am an artist capturing human emotion through photography, utilizing design and writing to storytell, and emphasizing the importance of physicality by printmaking. My visual language involves portraiture and architecture, reflecting the human experience and connections between the physical world and mentality.
My work primarily revolves around justice, humanity, and social commentary. The discernment of humanity as a concept is a core part of understanding the world around us, what makes people, “people,” and the ways civilization can utilize this to recognize and solve problems. Self-awareness can be obtained through highlighting human behaviors and becoming conscious of them, making a generally more empathetic society: one of fostering community and emotional intelligence. Emotion is an emphasized theme across my pieces, paired with the way societal infrastructures impact them. The art I create materializes this overall notion as I highlight the mundane and overlooked parts of the human experience.
